Here at Ralphs, we love nothing more than a chance to celebrate- which is why it’s so great that we get to celebrate not just one New Years, but two. As the Lunar New Year approaches, we have decided to celebrate with a cigar brand that has already been celebrating for years. Five years ago, Punch celebrated the Chinese New Year with a raucously flavorful smoke, the Punch Egg Roll. That was followed by the Punch Chop Suey in 2020 and then the magnificent Kung Pow the year after. In 2022 they released the full-flavored Fu Manchu and debuted the Punch Spring Roll just in time for New Years 2023. Each of these expertly crafted blends were produced in limited quantities with a variety of tremendous tobacco, medium to full-bodied masterpieces of precision and flavor, sure to thrill Punch fans specifically and cigar connoisseurs at large.
The Punch Egg Roll is a limited edition Rothschild that features a shaggy, unwrapped foot designed to emulate the texture of cabbage when biting into its eponymous snack. A 5-country blend of fillers from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United States is held together by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a dark and toothy Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. The Punch Egg Roll delivers a luxurious medium strength smoke, with an excellent draw, and a flavor profile boasting rich nuances of earth, pepper, and an underlying sweetness.
The Punch Chop Suey comes in a panetela format that, like the Egg Roll, is finished with a 1 inch shaggy foot. Its blend consists of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It creates a beautiful medium to full bodied smooth smoke that has a complex body. There is a light spice that coats your palate and lips for a great finish.
Made to commemorate the Year of the Ox, the Kung Pow is expertly rolled with an oily Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Honduran habano binder and fillers from Brazil, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. This special blend of tobaccos creates a medium-strength orchestra of well-balanced flavors of sweetness and spice.
This sinister Fu Manchu packs a Punch with a 5-nation blend with tobacco from Nicaragua, Mexico and the Dominican, contained within a binder from Indonesian and wrapped with an exquisite natural Honduran Habano leaf. The Fu Manchu is embellished with a extra-long pigtail that extends half way down the cigar resembling the long mustache Dr. Fu Manchu had as a scientific super-villain in the classic comics. This full-bodied box-press smoke has tasty characteristics that are naturally sweet, with a hint of toasty nuts.
The newest Lunar Punch is the Spring Roll, a medium-bodied firecracker dressed in a beautiful Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over USA broadleaf binder and features a complex blend of fillers from four countries, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the USA. The Spring Roll envelopes the palate with notes of spice, leather, and sweetness.
